Volunteer Opportunity: National Night Out Pre-Planning Meeting

If any Alumni Association members are interested in assisting in planning and coordinating this year’s National Night Out (NNO), there will be a meeting on Thursday, March 21st, 2013 at 6:30pm in Training Room A at the Hays County Sheriff’s Office. (Note: Date changed from 3/20 to 3/21 on 3/18.) This meeting will be an informational and organizational meeting so that we can begin to make this year’s NNO the best ever!

On Christmas Day morning, the San Marcos Police Department Citizens Police Academy Alumni Association will be hosting their annual First Responder Christmas Day Breakfast. This breakfast is open to all first responders that are working on Christmas Day. They have asked if any of our members would be interested in preparing and serving food for first responders.

Volunteer Opportunity: Extended Jails Operations

If anyone is interested in spending a 4 hour tour of duty in the jail with officers to see more of their day to day activities and to learn more about how the jail operates outside of the hour and a half you got in the Citizens Academy class, please let me know and we can schedule something similar to the patrol ride-outs.

The HCSO SWAT team has scheduled training for Thursday, August 30th from 7:30a to 3:00p during which they will need volunteers to act as Role Players for DOD House/Vehicle breach and hostage rescue scenarios.

0700-0730 Setup DOD House/Vehicle/Role Players
0730-0800 Script Role Players
0800-0830 Deployment
0830-1000 Work the scenario
1000-1030 Hot wash
1030-1130 Train on Hasty Assaults
1130-1300 Break/Lunch/Scenario Setup-Deliberate HR
1300-1400 Conduct Deliberate HR with Vehicle
1400-1500 Hot wash and train on Deliberate HR
1500-1700 Live Fire/Sniper Initiated HR into vehicle
          Exploration of Squad Differences.

Volunteer Opportunity: Assist Training Division With Basic Peace Officer Course
