Brown Santa Holiday LockupGreeting from the Hays County Brown Santa Program!!

This year’s “Holiday Lockup” fundraiser for Brown Santa is on December 1, 2023, from 10:00am to 1:00pm at the Hays County Government Center located at 712 S. Stagecoach Trail San Marcos, Texas in the rotunda. We are looking to raise money for the Hays County Brown Santa program that brings toys and food to families in need at Christmas time. Last year, we helped over 650 families in Hays County. The services offered extends beyond just families in need, as donations are also made to children who are receiving services through the Department of Family Protective Services, CASA, the Hays-Caldwell Women’s Center, and many other organizations working withing Hays County Brown Santa. This serviced over 1500 children, helping them to have a merrier Christmas.

Brown Santa Looking For Christmas ElvesThe Hays County Brown Santa program has started its annual drive for money, food, and toys to assist families in need in Hays County. The program consists of volunteers from the Hays County Sheriff’s Office and members of the community. Brown Santa seeks donations from citizens and local businesses for toys, canned goods, and money. Last year over 650 families were given assistance in food and/or toys throughout Hays County.

“Adopt-A-Cop” for the Holidays is back!

Our goal is to give to over 400 officers and deputies within Hays County. Yep, over 400!

Your gifts will be going to officers at the Buda Pd, Kyle Pd, the Hays County Sheriff’s Office & Corrections. We will be stocking the lunchroom for the Hays County Constable offices along with the 911 Dispatch Operators for these Departments.

Here is how you can help:

You can adopt 1 or more officers. Once you commit we will assign you your officer(s).

Once you commit to adopting an officer, you will be sent the officers name and the drop off locations. We will need you to provide your phone & email to us when committing.

Fill an 8×10 gift-bag with at least the items on the graphic. You can do more but it has to fit in an 8×10 gift bag. No homemade food items allowed. Our officers LOVE handmade cards, especially from your kiddos!

Once you have your gift bag ready, drop it off to one of the noted drop off locations. We will have locations in Buda, Wimberley, San Marcos and Dripping Springs. Once you commit to adopting an officer, we will send you the drop off locations.

If you run a club, such as Girl Scouts, Boy Scouts, church group, book club, etc., and would like your club to help, this is a great way for your club to help!
December 13th is the deadline to drop off your gift bag to one of our designated locations.

Our team will gather, sort, and deliver the gift bags to each department between December 21-December 24th.

Comment below, send me a PM with your email, or text me, if you want to adopt a cop. You can also email us at adoptacopHC@gmail.com

Your help and support are essential for this to be a successful project! Every year that we have done this it has made such a positive impact on the officers! They talk about it often and hear stories of how grateful they are, all year long!

Thank you again to everyone who helped last year! We hope and pray that this year is just as successful!

Lackland AFB: Canine Training Session

On October 25th, eight Alumni members traveled to the TSA Canine Training Center at Lackland AFB to observe how the dogs and their handlers are trained. The TSA National Explosives Detection Canine program trains and deploys both TSA-led and state and local law enforcement-led canine teams in support of day-to-day activities that protect the transportation domain. These highly trained explosives detection canine teams are a reliable resource at detecting explosives and provide a visible deterrent to terrorism directed towards transportation systems.

HCSO: Scam Alert!Sheriff Gary Cutler says the Hays County Sheriff’s Office has been responding to several reports of scams in the recent days. This week a citizen received a call from a local 512 number. The caller identified themselves as an employee of the Sheriff’s Office using a real employees name.
