Members of the Hays County Citizens Sheriff’s Academy Alumni Association (HCCSAAA) volunteer time to support the Hays County Sheriff’s Office (HCSO) by assisting with the Brown Santa Program, The Sunshine Kids, the HCCSAAA Scholarship Program and other programs supporting the HCSO. Cheeseburger Fundraisers generate the majority of the funds used to support these projects.

In 2023, the Christmas Brown Santa Program supplied food and toys for 525 Hays County families which included over 1,700 children. And the number of families and children supported increases with each passing year.

The Sunshine Kids is a nonprofit organization dedicated to children with cancer. Each June, the HCSO and the HCCSAAA host The Sunshine Kids Texas Hill Country Adventure. Last year, 24 teens from all over the United States participated along with seven medical representatives. At this time, we do not know how many will be attending this June. The week-long program enables them to just be kids by providing them with exciting, positive group activities as well as emotional support so they may have fun and celebrate life.

The HCCSAAA Scholarship Program was started in 2023. The HCCSAAA will be awarding a $1,500 scholarship to a high school senior whose parent or guardian is an employee of the HCSO. The scholarship is paid directly to the college, university, technical or trade school for use during their first years’ attendance.

The Hays County Citizens Sheriff’s Academy Alumni Association and the Hays County Sheriff’s Office, plus all the programs they support, appreciate your contribution. The Hays County Citizens Sheriff’s Academy Alumni Association is a 501(c)(3) so your purchase or donation may qualify as a tax deduction (please check with your tax advisor).
